"CLIENT SPEAK"

"Kim was absolutely delightful to work with! She was so responsive to all of my emails, phone calls, etc. What a great personality! Loved her! I would choose to work with her again for any future projects that we would have."

– Brenda Kimball, Beacon Hill at Eastgate

Our LEED Advantage

At Interphase, we don’t just talk about “green building,” we live it. And, we have the accreditation to prove it. Interphase Interiors President Randy DeBoer was the first LEED certified furniture dealer/owner in Michigan. At Interphase Interiors, we relish the opportunity to assist you with new ideas and applications that can deliver positive results on all three fronts of the ‘Triple Bottom Line’ including your people, the planet, and your organization’s profits.

About LEED

The U.S. Green Building Council has introduced a framework to help businesses measure their adherence to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards assesses all aspects of building performance with a comprehensive suite of rating tools to promote green design, construction and operations practices in buildings across the country. The requirements range from state-of-the-art strategies for site selection, water savings, energy efficiency, material selection and indoor environmental quality.

The LEED Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) rating addresses factors like efficiency of water usage; energy performance optimization including lighting and lighting controls; resource utilization for interior building systems and furnishings, and indoor environmental quality. Businesses that have designed their interiors with an eye towards efficiency and the environment are rewarded with LEED “points.” There are four levels of achievement depending on how many of the ‘green principles’ are adopted, Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum.

LEED and Interphase Interiors

Interphase Interiors works with clients early in the planning process to mesh the tools of the LEED-CI designation, the client’s budget, and actual furniture and systems that can deliver. Often, Interphase Interiors can conceptualize and deliver solutions that save money and help save the earth. Consider the example of raised floor systems, where air is distributed under the floor plus electrical and network cables run below the workspace. Such a system earns high points from LEED by improving the environment for employees, maintaining superb air movement and quality, and at the same time saving energy costs. This is just one example of a simple yet powerful solution.
